What do you do when you find yourself in your 30s or 40s and feel as if everything is all wrong?At this stage, the last thing you want to think about is starting over. There just isn’t time. You feel you should be set in your career and major life choices at this point. However, you’re terrified because life’s in no way shaping up the way you thought it would.
Some people lie occasionally; others think nothing of it. Taking a benevolent stance, we can believe most people try not to lie. Being truthful should be the only option. It is a better alternative than lying and wondering when the truth will be revealed and dreading possible outcomes. That "the truth shall set you free” is not an idle saying.
Watching the news can be the worst activity for anyone trying to preserve any semblance of positivity. If you’re struggling with depression or negative thoughts, it might be a good idea to tune in to something else. You want to keep abreast of what’s happening in the world. You want to know if aliens are landing so you can take appropriate action—right? However, you might just have to rely on friends or family for breaking news when reality gets to be a little bit too much to handle.
Imagine you’re at the beach and floating or treading water. You put your feet down expecting to touch sand. Instead, you find yourself sinking. During your panicked flailing, you get glimpses of the shore and realize you’re not where you’re supposed to be.
